My book:
The Red Thread
Why I wrote The Red Thread
This book is written for those who struggle to be at peace with who they are. This was my story. For so long I doubted myself; I compared myself to others and in any given situation, I felt like I was either too much or not enough.
Jesus says that He came to give us life in abundance, and these words intrigued me. Could it be that I was missing something? What were the keys to living a full life as promised by God?
Through the process of adopting a little girl from China, I came to the realisation that I was not living as God’s beloved daughter, but as a spiritual orphan. This life changing revelation kick-started the process of transformation.
The Red Thread is my attempt to record the journey and the truths discovered en-route to healing and freedom, so that you, too, may walk into wholeness, knowing that the goal is possible. God has done it for me, He can do it for you!

Praise for The Red Thread
-
Rt Rev Julian Henderson, Bishop of Blackburn
“Here’s a very honest book about how we can be freed from the crippling emotions of defeat, disappointment and dispair. Lucinda’s story turns the reader’s attention to Jesus and how being in relationship with Him will bring hope forgiveness, peace and adoption into his family. The powerful chapter on the devil is certainly one which Satan would not want us to read!”
-
Jonathan Horsfall - Pastor, Life Church Bath.
“The Red Thread goes straight for the heart and the reader can’t run away from the reality that God is our Father and He is building a family of sons and daughters. Lucinda is a guide not just a writer, pulling all of her words from experience that she has lived. It’s the Lucindas of this world that move the bride closer to the bridegroom.”
-
Mike Raiter – Director, Centre for Biblical Teaching, Melbourne, Australia
"The Red Thread is written by a fellow traveller who’s walked through deep waters and learned the tender mercies of God. This book will nurture, comfort and feed the thirsty soul."
-
Canon Archie Coates, vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton, London
“Every Christian is a child of God, but we don’t always seem to “get it”. With Lucinda’s help, you will! And when you do, you will find freedom from your fears, and relief from your burdens.”
-
Thea Muir, Co-founder of the “I am so many things” movement and of “Jesus Fields”.
“Lucinda writes with depth and authority about the core issue of our identity in Christ, challenging and calling us higher into more of who God made us to be.”
-
Eric Sandor, Author and Speaker and trustee of David's Tent
“In her book, The Red Thread, Lucinda Smith uncovers God’s longings for us and draws us to find freedom, identity, and wholeness in our Heavenly Father. Her story of hope will inspire a new and fearless hope within you, and stir you to reach out with honesty to our loving Father amidst any and all circumstances.”
-
Anna Smith, Author of “Mrs Smith” and mother of six.
“An incredibly honest and beautiful book written to encourage and remind me that my Heavenly Father loves me so much and realise the true healing and comfort of knowing I am His daughter.”
-
Emma Bourquaye – Founder of Girlgotfaith.com
“With pressure in the current age of social media, to only present to the world what is polished and perfected, this book gives space to be vulnerable and authentic in the arms of our loving Father and teaches what it truly means to live an abundant life.”
